The Virology laboratory renders an extensive diagnostic service including
virus isolation, electron microscopy and serology employing all commonly used
techniques. We are OIE designated experts for lumpy skin disease, Rift Valley
fever, rabies, bluetongue and African horsesickness. Research focuses on
epidemiological aspects of viral diseases of Africa.
