The Water Science unit strives to use a multi-disciplinary approach in water resource management and information, applying research and technology development to promote the efficient and productive use of water in agricultural natural resource management and support socio-economic well-being.
The work done by this unit focuses on sustainable natural resource management, in particular water resources, in South Africa, mandated by related legislation including the Conservation of Agricultural Resources Act, National Environmental Management Act and the National Water Act, as well as its relevance to International Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
