The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is a Research and Development Institution of excellence in South Africa, which operates within the National System of Innovation. The ARC has a mandate for innovative and creative agricultural research, technology development and transfer aimed at the advancement of South African agriculture. Its operations are overseen by the ARC Council appointed by and accountable to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
The ARC currently needs to appoint a dynamic, appropriately qualified and experienced candidate to complement their staff in the Post Harvest and Wine Technology of Infruitec-Nietvoorbij situated at Stellenbosch.

Elsenburg Diploma ( Oenology) or other relevant tertiary education

Proven experience in wine making

The ARC seeks to appoint a highly motivated, innovative, and dynamic person to compliment their staff in the Marketing and Communications division at Central Office Pretoria to the following position:
WEB CONTENT COORDINATOR
Key Performance Areas:
- Manage all Web Content and Electronic Marketing and Communications in terms of creation, persuasion, accessibility and usability including planning and publishing on the Intranet, Internet and all web platforms in consultation with ICT and business units
- Ensure current, accurate and integrated web content
- Develop and implement a strategy for on-line marketing and electronic communication
- Ensure appropriate and consistent application of the on-line corporate identity (branding, design & layout, banners, podcasts, etc.)
- Coordinate content from internal sources, copy edit, proof reading, and checking encoded content for accuracy
- Perform regular maintenance on obsolete information, projects and links as well as tracking and scheduling on-line data, postings and internal communiqués
- Intercepting on-line enquiries and referring them to relevant business units and personnel
- Facilitate and moderate interactive social networking platforms and tools
- Increase site traffic and usage through coordination of compelling content, integration with offline activities to drive people to the web
- Manage workflow and deadlines on multiple, simultaneous projects
- Manage special on-line projects life cycle
- Keep current with emerging web technologies
Requirements:
- A National Diploma in Graphic or Web Design or related studies
- Three (3) or more years experience in an e-commerce, e-media and internet marketing environment or related business field
- Extensive knowledge of web-based software packages, computer programs, content management systems and tools (MS Sharepoint, HTML, CSS, Java scripting, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver)
- Advanced knowledge of social marketing and media networks
- Ability to build web sites and a strong reference portfolio
- Advanced publishing software and photographic manipulation experience
- Knowledge of oganisational communications protocol (internal & external)
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of communications disciplines and processes (including public/media relations, on-line communications, shareholder and employee communications)
- Proficiency in grammar, linguistics and creative writing in English with ability to edit various types of content ranging from general to specialized technical content (such as scientific, research, corporate information and other miscellaneous copy)
- Exceptional skills in editing web content, online content development and writing with a content management system
- Ability to clearly and consistently organize, manage and present complex information in useful formats to a wide range of audiences
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communications, problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised
- A Self starter, Team player, Creative and innovative attributes will be preferred
